WHERE DOES
SECOND BASE GO?

Second Base programmes are undertaken in remote, impoverished, rural communities. Participating areas are selected for their safety, cultural experience and novelty.

The areas selected have been designed to expose participants to the reality of third world living without exposing them to unnecessary personal risk. The cultures are embracing and the scenery is breath-taking.

All participating areas have requested Second Base presence. They have trained host families for accommodating participants and support the development projects with sustainability plans that ensure that on-going maintenance of any community project can be provided.

As Second Base is a customised programme, almost any location can be explored if they meet certain standards and criteria.
